His Church: Charity re-uses donated counterfeit clothes

Have you ever wondered what happens to the fake-brand clothes when the Trading standards and customs get a hold of them? They get burned. Not only is this a huge waste of perfectly good clothes but it also has a massive impact on the environment.

Luckily the HIS Church charity has started rebranding the clothes, covering up the fake brand with the HIS church logo and distributing the clothes to some 250 homeless centres and women’s shelters across the country.

“Even items which are too heavily branded to be patched over with the His Church logo are not wasted.” HIS Church has the permission to send the clothes outside the EU and to places like Africa.

I never thought about what happens to the ‘stuff’ that gets seized, this is an innovative way of making sure nothing is wasted and everyone gets to wear quality clothes.
