What do you think?

“As a fashion designer, I was always aware that I was not an artist, because I was creating something that was made to be sold, marketed, used, and ultimately discarded.”

  1. When we talk about the cycle of clothes – isn’t that the cycle of all things? Clothing is after all a ‘consumable’. The issue is with the quality of the consumable. With fast fashion the longevity of both styles and fabrics is reduced – leading to clothing more likely to be discarded. There needs to be a change in attitude about how we consume clothing.

  2. But how can the attitudes towards the consumption of clothing be changed? Because trends are constantly going to be changing, and it is difficult to stop this from happening, and people are always going to be worried about what they're wearing.

  3. If people knew lives were being lost to make their clothes, do you think people will start to change their thinking?
